Situation
Maxell fell into the trap that many organizations with several divisions fall into (from corporations to colleges). Over time, each division had their own ideas and goals and created their own Web sites. These Web sites served each division well; however, there was a lack of continuity and control from the corporate brand perspective.
Solution
We worked with each division of Maxell USA to design and develop a new Web presence that had the flexibility to be customized to each division, but kept a common theme and brand image. We also added additional functionality to the Web site to increase brand affinity, including email-to-a-friend functionality, newsletter sign-ups, and a retail locator.
Results
Randomly polled users indicate a high level of satisfaction in finding information and using the site, and Maxell is building their marketing database for future marketing efforts. Most importantly, the brand is being communicated in a consistent, energetic, and contemporary manner.
